Putting Emotion to Work - Your Superpower for Collaboration and Innovation
Emotion is a superpower; yet the myth that emotions don’t belong at work has been pervasive. Today, science shows that emotion drives 95% of behavior.
Because we process approximately 1,600 thoughts a day intertwined with emotions, developing habits of awareness that harness our body/mind energy is a simple and powerful art. Because emotional connection activates chemicals for safety, energy, and focus, we need it to get work done. Whether you consider yourself more or less emotional, the ability to interpret others’ emotions is critical to building trust and being productive with conflict and collaboration.
This session will provide strategies and tools for strengthening emotional awareness. After all, we can’t regulate what we’re not aware of, right? You will increase confidence to connect with and understand loved ones and coworkers in new ways, welcome authentic expression beyond performance, reduce unnecessary stress, and drive team synergy. Emotionally healthy work cultures foster full talent engagement and outstanding retention.
You will gain personal tips for channeling stress and/or drama into wellness and productivity—without absorbing it! Be confident personally and professionally embracing e-motions, don’t just go through the-motions.

Understand unique aspects of “Your Interior Design,” aka, YID of emotions
Increase curiosity and compassion for others’ emotions and intentions
Understand the impact of negative and positive emotions on others
Recognize the role of empathy in mental strength, leadership and parenting—co-regulating emotions
Choose one or more strategies for processing emotions for calm, and confidence
Increase confidence in putting your superpower to work personally and professionally
